Are you looking for a Pet Groomer?
If you’re looking for a new pet groomer, STOP! You’ve found the place. Seriously though, there are some things you should consider when you’re looking for a groomer for your pet. Following are a few of those things you should consider.
Can you check out the facility? The facility should be clean. It should smell clean and be well ventilated. In addition, the areas should be cleaned up after each grooming session.
Do they know grooming standards for different breeds? If you have a purebred, or near purebred, there are breed standards that accentuate your dog’s genetic build and muscle structure. You should ask your groomer if they are familiar with them.
What other services do they provide? At a minimum, the groomer will provide a dog wash or bath. They also usually provide the following; nail trimming, ear cleaning, hair brushing, and hair trimming. In addition, other duties may include: detangling, drying the coat, checking for parasites, expressing anal glands, and brushing teeth. You should ask them upfront what services they will be providing for you.
How will my pet be kept? Your pet should be secured in a safe location in a crate or a designated play area. He should have clean padding, fresh air, and be in view of the personnel.
Are they trained in first aid for pets? They should have a first aid kit for animals and also some training in caring for small injuries.
Lastly, be sure you know the costs upfront so there are no surprises when it comes time to pay.
